I have been making art the majority of my life. My formal education is in art, earning both a bachelors and masters of fine art degrees. I first studied at the State University of New York College at Buffalo and later earned my MFA with Sonia Landy Sheridan (The School of the Art Institute of Chicago). I currently live in the Pacific Northwest. This website has been developed to showcase my work. Please feel free to contact me if you find the work to be of interest.

Artist statement

The pictures that I make are not necessarily about the subject(s) as much as they are about seeing a work of art. I attempt to find an aesthetic that will go beyond what is being photographed. And help the viewer to see more than the content of the image. In most cases the pictures are about how the built environment that dominates our lives.

I do not photograph people usually, and instead show what people have made or done and by doing so, people are always in my images even if they are absent. You can think of these images as bearing witness to what people build.

"Anything that excites me for any reason, I will photograph; not searching for unusual subject matter, but making the commonplace unusual."
- Edward Weston
